Vegan orange pound cake


  • 2 1/4 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar of choice
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 3/4 tsp baking soda
  • 3/4 cup non dairy yogurt
  • 3/4 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 1/2 cup coconut oil
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • Zest of 1 orange
  • 1 tbsp organic orange carrot supercolour powder


  1. Preheat oven to 180 celsius. Greased the loaf pan and set aside.

    In a mixing bowl, sift flour. Add supercolour powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt and mix well.

  2. In a separate bowl combine orange juice, orange zest, oil, yogurt. Add wet ingredients into dry and mix until smooth. Pour batter into a greased loaf pan. Bake for 50-55 minutes or until a butter knife through the center and comes out clean.

    Let the cake cool for about 10 minutes in the pan, then turn the cake out onto a plate.
