One-bowl chocolate cake (Vegan)


  • 1 3/4 cup white spelt flour
  • 1/4 cup almond flour
  • 3/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp instant coffee powder
  • 1 cup coconut sugar or cane sugar
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup dairy free yogurt
  • 1/2 cup coconut oil
  • 1 1/3 cup water
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract


  1. Preheat oven to 180 celsius. Line an 8" square baking pan with parchment paper. Set aside.

  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together spelt flour, almond flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda, coffee powder and salt. Then add in coconut oil, yogurt, water, vanilla and whisk until the batter is smooth. 
  3. Pour into prepared pan. Tap gently against the counter to release any air bubbles. Bake for 40 minutes or until the toothpick comes out clean. Allow cake to cool completely. Enjoy.
